I came to America to find more security for my family. When I talk about security I mean all the meanings that go with it. In Brazil, My wife worked as a nurse and I was a realtor. Today my wife works in house cleaning and I install hardwood floors.

The hardest thing about leaving Brazil was leaving parents who are aging. It has been difficult learning the language and the culture here in America. It was a big learning curve. We have been fortunate in that everywhere we have gone we have been welcomed, never facing any discrimination.

My friend told me about a Brazilian church that was meeting at the Nazarene church. I had attended another Brazilian church prior to coming to Central. I was disappointed in the previous church because I wasn’t seeing the truth of the Gospel. I started to lose hope. But at Central, I found the truth of the Gospel and hope began to burn in our hearts. Our search for financial security lost its meaning because we found the truth of the Gospel. What was being preached here at Central made us hungry for the truth. Our hope is that this truth expands even more. I believe that people should pay attention to the right hope which is Christ through the scripture.
