Carlos and Karla Recancoj

We come from Guatemala and decided to come here because of the existing crime in our country and the insecurity.

The biggest difficulty when we arrived in the United States was adapting to the new culture, the living style, the language (which is still a struggle), and the work, because we come from very different jobs in our country.

Karla

My dream is to know more about God, to learn more about God and to be a better person every day in order to do well in family situations, such as with my family, with my daughters, and with my grandchildren. I want them to see that there is a change in my life, that I am no longer the same as before, but that there is a change from due to my seeking and persevering to the right path.

Carlos

Yes, I think that in that sense we are kind of on the same page. Through God and through the Holy Spirit, we are able to be better people every day, a better husband, a better father, a better grandfather, a better worker, etc. May everything I do be through God. He gives us the strength and wisdom to move forward. What I want is for God to be in our lives, because through Him everything else remains.

Karla

We came to Church thanks to the Navas family, especially Cesia, whom we have known for a long time, long before Frank’s accident. It was through them that I realized that we can change. Unfortunately, many seek more from God because of illnesses or problems, but it was through the Navas that we realized we can change. It is because of their testimony that we are here.

Carlos

The church has been a great blessing. As a family, as a couple, and in our social life, it has been a great blessing for us to meet the people we have met here.

The Central family has helped us a lot with many struggles, such as the loss of my sister, or difficult situations as a couple. It is thanks to the help we received that we are together and we are well in our marriage. The Central Church has not only been a blessing for us, but it has also become our family.
