Dear Central Church,
Just four weeks ago we began the Advent journey, counting down the days until Christmas. We were challenged to be “people of the dawn,” recognizing the light of Christ’s presence that breaks through the darkness of this world. While I know Advent is supposed to be focused on preparing my heart, I can’t help but fill it with preparations for family gatherings, planning parties, and shopping for everyone on my list.
Our Christmas Eve service is a worship gathering unlike anything else we do. The Christmas carols and the lighting of candles are designed to remind us that this season is all about Jesus! In the middle of all the things that can fill this season, God can use the simplicity of a single candle and Christmas carols to reorient our hearts towards that which is eternal.
I’m looking forward to gathering with you on Saturday and focusing on Jesus! That’s what this season is all about. This is a great service to extend an invitation to a friend or family member. The services start at 4pm and 6pm, and there will be a time of fellowship in between services.
Since our primary worship services for the weekend will be on Christmas Eve, We also have a Christmas Day video resource that will be sent via email or Facebook on Christmas Day. We created this to make it easy for you to share on social media. This is an easy way to introduce people to Jesus through your Central Church family.
I look forward to seeing you on Saturday night as we celebrate the gift of God’s one and only son!
Until He’s Finished,
Pastor Mark
