Dear Central Church Family,

I have a love/hate relationship with “push notifications.” If you don’t know what those are, allow me to explain: it’s an alert generated by an app on your phone, notifying you of a new message, update, social media post, etc. I like to be “in the know,” so I appreciate news agencies getting me the information as quickly as possible to my phone.

The downside to push notifications, however, is the constant bombardment of bad news. Very rarely does “good news” generate the kind of user engagement that makes money for the news provider. News that angers us or causes us to worry is usually what gets our attention.

I want to know the news, but sometimes I wish I didn’t.

In a world that is saturated with bad news, the people of God have good news to share with the world: it’s the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it’s the best news you’ll ever hear. In this season, more than ever before, our world needs to hear the good news of what God has done in Christ to reconcile the world to himself.

That’s what my new sermon series is all about. It’s entitled, “Simply Good News: Why the Gospel is the Best News You’ll Ever Hear.” The news of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus guarantees that all the bad news of today will be made right in future. It’s a message that forgives your past, redeems your present, and transforms your future.

This series walks through the early chapters of Matthew's Gospel, focusing on the life of Jesus and how he can transform your life. Join us on this Sunday at 8:30 or 11am for the best news you will ever hear.

Until He’s Finished,

Pastor Mark
